Fun with audio
Aug 7 2008, 5:22 PM EDT
I am using this idea with my students at Intro level to Children's Services and Community Work and at Voc Prep level. Some of these students have literacy issues and low self-esteem. By creating a little avatar that speaks with your voice or theirs, students can hear how words are pronounced correctly and feel good about using technology as it is quite simple and engaging to use. The site is called Voki and the address is www.voki.comLynne Do you find this valuable? |

Hi Lynne, thanks for that. I have had a lot of fun playing with voki.com. My Avatar even has an Aussie accent. I plan to use this with my adult literacy group tomorrow. I know that some of them are going to get a real kick out of it. Thanks for sharing Philly Do you find this valuable? |

Hi Lynne,I have to say that I loved it!!! I spent ages playing with it when I was supposed to be studying. I tried to use it at work, but the TAFE internet blocked the site. A number of students were taking it home to have a look. I would love to use this with some the very low level students, in particular the 'at-risk-youth'. I am sure that they would get a buzz out of it. I love that you could even choose your accent. Thanks for your contribution. Smiles Peta Do you find this valuable? |
